Doubts of Dating

this week was very interesting in class because a lot of what we talked about was dating and that is something that i have never struggled with. the world is beginning to grow blind for the purpose of dating. which is sad because you can learn so much about other people and most importantly you find out who you are and what you really want out of life.

The Confusion of the world

To much of the world is confused about what is expected of men and women, in fact a lot of the world assumes that what is expected of men and women are the same, well news flash if we were meant to be the same thing and accomplish the same thing God would have created us the same, well the last time I checked there is a significant difference between me and my soon to be wife. We are different but that is the beauty of it all that is one of the divine purposes of our mortal existence, to grow and learn from one another's differences. O to often people say "there is no difference in gender people can chose whatever gender they want and to think of men and women as different is discrimination" well let me speak my mind. My belief is we were all created to be what we were created as, I believe all men were created equal, the right to be equally respected, equally loved, and to have equal opportunity, but that does not mean we all were created and or have the same purpose. A dishwasher and a microwave both are common appliances in a kitchen and just because there purposes are different does not make one more important than the other, and in a similar note I cannot get angry at my dishwasher because it cant worm up my left overs or get mad at my microwave because it doesn't clean my dishes. So it is with all of us, I cant hope to be or do what my Grandmother, mother, sister, and wife can and have accomplished but i can be the best grandson, son, brother, and husband that I can be to the best of my abilities. There is a beauty in this completeness and a true happiness in the knowledge that men and women can truly be proud of who what they are and that together they can accomplish more and find greater joy than they ever could alone.

Culture and family.

Our discussions on culture and its role in the family this week have been quite eye opening. to often we look at cultures as this barrier that separates the way people live usually recognized by country or race, but the truth is most of the time Culture is not a barrier to separate and block but a doorway to teach and show how much there really is in the world. Culture is a form of being, a declaration of who we are and what we believe and it is not bound by country limits or race but is all around us. my good friend from next door was raised in a similar but yet different culture than I was, you cant stop it but you can change it. I believe the culture we should try to surround ourselves with the most is one of love and family.

Week Three

There was a lot this week I found interesting but the most fascinating thing we experienced i found was when we did the mock therapy session. I was fascinated at how Brother Williams worked off other people's emotions and a central love for the child to bring the parents together. It really showed how easily people can grow apart  but also that they can grow back together with the right motivation. The hard part is finding the right motivation that will be powerful enough to restore the family to a healthy state.

Interesting week of discussion.

I found it very fascinating this week how worried the world is about population. Weather it is growing or decreasing someone is always complaining, if the population is increasing some people will say we have to stop having children we are going to use up all our resources. On the flip side if the population starts to decrease people say we have to replenish the population in order to keep creating resources. so it is a complex battle. Due to peoples views and opinions some governments have attempted to control the amount of children or size of family's. But my belief is, let God work where and how he will and allow husbands and wives to fulfill that first commandment given to the children of men (multiply and replenish the earth) to whatever degree they see fit. It is the right of no man to dictate ungodly power over wholesome family's who are simply attempting to do there best to live as God would have them live: In family's. That is just my humble opinion.

Well this is my first attempt to blog for my family relations class. We have only had three classes so far but believe me those classes have been filled with information. we have learned a lot about conducting proper research when studding the family. At first i wondered why we would spend so much time on the importance of research but then it hit me, if the family truly is the most important social unit of our mortal experience and encouraging the family one of our most important duties then we can not offered to miss represent the family or shed ill light upon it. If we were to present the idea and concept of the family for less than what it really is or what is meant to be then are are not only failing our faith we are failing or future.
