The Countdown is On!

Four weeks from today Elder Cunningham will be getting off the plane and his mission will officially be over. Four weeks. 28 days. Mom are you still breathing? Anyway until then, here are the latest pictures he sent home.

This is Elder Anderson, his greenie and last companion.
Funny that he found a way to be a beach bum without breaking any mission rules. This set up is in someone's back yard.

As always there was a bad bike accident which he had to include pictures of. (Since the MTC I don't think he's ever sent home pictures without at least one good wreck.) Anyway, before I show you the gruesome injury photos, I thought you'd like to see what his helmet looked like after the fact.

Good thing he's got God on his side...

Okay this is super gross. This is a slice of pizza rolled around a corn dog and topped with ramen noodles. Can you say puke!?!?!?!?

I'm guessing that this must be the new mission president & his wife.

This looks like a 4th of July parade/celebration to me, but I could be wrong.

I don't know if this is smog or fog. Either way it doesn't necessarily make me want to head to SoCal anytime soon.

Okay there was a video explaining that Cody literally ran his bike into this tree. Although I think this picture is staged because it apparently wasn't a bad wreck.

So hopefully that will hold everyone (mom) over for the next month until we get to finally see him in person!

News of Elder Cunningham

We received a lot of news from Elder Cunningham this Week.

He is thrilled to be serving in a bike area......

...but it does have it's challenges.

At least he isn't driving a car. We all count our blessings....
(this isn't a mission car, but just an accident they passed).

He and Elder Franks went to a dirt track one P-day. In his letter he wrote
"I should have listened to the spirit and not gone off that jump....."

"...and I should have followed the spirit and kept my helmet on."

Elder Franks and Elder Cunningham

Elder Cunningham was quite excited to participate in the district Easter Egg Hunt.....!

......Hosted by one of the families in their ward.

Then there was the huge conference with Elder L. Tom Perry.

One of the wards had an activity where cakes were decorated. Here are two of his favorites.

I don't think this is what they meant when they said you will finish your mission on bike.

Elder Cunningham has been transferred to Highland, CA. He picked up his new 'greenie' companion yesterday and is excited to be a trainer again.

May God Bless you!

The Work and Fun of Elder Cunningham

There are a lot of things that keep Elder Cunningham busy along with tracting and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ ......

There is District Conference.....

... and then there is Zone Conference at the home of some members in Moreno Valley.

Of course, this is what happens when your hosts for Zone Conference are Polynesian.

You learn the Haka and how to dance the Hukilau.

Then there is work to be done in the zone. Hmmmm..... he wasn't kidding when he said he put on a few pounds. Look at those cheeks! :-)

Yes, he is patriotic!

There is also saying goodbye to an excellent companion.

Elder Houston finished his mission and is now back home in Idaho.

Then there was the zone Activity. Hiking up the Mountain!

Of course, Elder Cunningham can't just hike up the mount.....

And Finally, on February 20th Elder Cunningham hit his 18th month mark. It is mission tradition to burn a pair of pants to commemorate that date.

He seems a little sad to be so close to finishing his mission.
We are proud of you Elder!!
